Let's briefly study these 3 essential part of a christian life.
Recently,I was trying to give more attention to a particular Bible verse to know how related they are in their functionality as related to believers.Take away the heart and the other two(spirit and mind) are gone.Take away the spirit,the heart is not living and is toss anywhere and without the mind,no thinking is possible.Having this knowledge,let us go from here to consider what bro.Paul was saying in the book of Romans 8:27 which says "For he that searcheth the heart knoweth what is in the mind of the spirit......."
For he that searcheth heart knoweth what's in the mind of the spirit-This shows that the "HEART" is the house in which the "SPIRIT" abides.The spirit being that of God has a "MIND" which functions as the thinking faculty of the spirit,meaning that all the thoughts of the spirit is going on in the mind! Is that ambiguous? Knowing this,we need ask how "HE" (I.e you and I) can better know the thoughts of the "mind of the spirit" and of what importance are the thoughts going on in the mind of the spirit?
Let's settle the latter question before the former for a better understanding.
The thoughts that takes place in the mind of the spirit is simply the information God wants to pass to the heart of a believer,simply put as the way God speaks to believers.But how a christian would know or hear what is going on in the spirit is what is begging for an answer.Now,for a believer to have those informations that're going on in the mind of the spirit,s/he must dilligently search(browse) what the mind of God is saying.The problem here is that,why the need to search when you've the spirit residing in you? There's a need because in a situation when you're in dilemma you've to ask the spirit what you should do when you are about to take an action.You must ask the spirit and the mind will better communicate with you which by implication means that you're searching.Searching here could be better explained in relation to when you google-search what you don't know.
The word "search" means that you're asking the spirit of God what to do and as you do so,the mind carried out the assignment by connecting with the source to tell you the way out.Do you get this?
In most cases,the mind of the spirit helps in understanding what God is saying about a certain scripture you are studying.Meaning that,in the process of searching the word of God,you're searching His mind and the spirit will then give you the product of what the mind said about that scripture you've or have been reading.This could be compared with what Joyce Meyer means when she said "continue in the studying of the Bible until it becomes a revelation given by the Holy spirit".However,a believer may miss what the spirit is saying when s/he lacks concentration or when it's too busy to listen to the information s/he ought to receive.A wandering mind will find it difficult to search because it is on a different mission and borthered about circumstances instead of listening to the mind of the spirit for the way out.
Therefore,it would be wise to say that "a heart that will receive information from God must be ready to search what the mind of God is saying and that is when a vibrant communication could be ensured"
Do a radical search to know the mind of God this season!
